Healthed webcasts are a valuable educational platform, allowing viewers to gain up-to-date clinical knowledge through an easy, time-efficient format. Our free online seminars fill a huge unmet need amongst GPs outside of the major cities for quality, accessible education. Each webcast features four lectures and runs for two hours. While the majority of viewers are GPs, our webcasts are relevant for healthcare professionals including pharmacists and nurses.
The upcoming Healthed webcast features presentations from these leading experts
Featuring the latest clinical information and updates on areas relevant to your practice

Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome or POTS, is the commonest form of autonomic dysfunction in the community, especially since COVID, and yet it remains poorly recognised and poorly understood. In this talk, cardiac electrophysiologist, Professor Dennis Lau will provide a valuable update on this condition - who is at risk, what are the presenting symptoms and signs, how it can be diagnosed in the primary care setting and, most importantly - how it is best managed according to the latest evidence.

Autism is now estimated to affect one in every 36 children, and while there is no 'cure', early diagnosis and management can make a big impact on these children's future lives. In this talk, autism expert Professor Tony Attwood will discuss the history of autism, highlighting how our understanding of the condition has evolved and how to recognise the range of symptoms and signs of autism as they might present in general practice. He will also outline the fundamentals of the new approach to management that is now strengths-based and person-affirming rather than disability focussed.

From detection to treatment, the management of obstructive sleep apnoea in general practice has changed dramatically in the last few years. In this presentation, GP, Associate Professor Ralph Audehm and sleep physician, Professor Brendon Yee use a primary care case study to discuss these changes and their practical application in clinical practice. From the use of Apple watches to the role of mandibular splints and now, incretin therapy, this talk provides a critical update for this very prevalent condition.

Despite asthma affecting one in 10 Australians, the condition is often not optimally controlled which can have a major impact on quality of life. In this talk, respiratory physician Associate Professor Greg Katsoulotos presents four case studies to demonstrate how best to manage patients who have asthma symptoms despite being on seemingly appropriate treatment. He will also discuss the role of biologics in the treatment of severe asthma including where and when they can and should be considered.
